Chapter 24

Celeste thanks Damien as she goes to look for Susie; outside in the woods Vlad is feeding off Susie as she struggles to get free. Celeste comes out as Susie screams when Vlad drops her and leaves; Celeste says," that scream sounded like Susie". Back at the castle, Callum was feeling a lot better as he says, "mom thanks for helping me". Carmilla smiles as Callum soon gets a feeling and leaves unexpectedly. Celeste and Damien search the woods for Susie; meanwhile, Callum runs through the woods as he sees Vlad feeding off Susie and stopping his dad. Vlad says, "how dare you to stop me, son!". Callum says " what are you going to do? Kill her?". Vlad leaves as he grabs another girl as she screams; Celeste says, " it came from over there". As Celeste runs up a hill; she sees the dark shadow biting the girl as it growls at her and disappears. Damien sees the young girl who drops dead as Celeste covers her mouth in shock. Celeste says, " this girl is around the same age as Brianna". Celeste takes off her jacket as she covers the girl as Celeste says to Damien " we need to find my sister". Callum held Susie as he tried to find a pulse however it was very weak; Callum bit his wrist and tried to feed her his blood as he soon heard Celeste's voice. Celeste called out "SUSIE! SUSIE!". Celeste soon sees something in the foggy mist as she walks into it and sees Callum beside Susie; Celeste says, "Callum what are you doing here?". Celeste sees Susie on the floor unconscious with a mark around her neck as Celeste bends down and says " sis, wake up!".

Damien is shocked as Celeste says, "we need to get her to a hospital". As Damien drives Susie to the hospital, Celeste prays for her sister as Callum tries to comfort her however Celeste says, "I think you hurt my sister". Callum was shocked as he says, "why would I do that?". As Celeste waits anxiously outside; back in the woods the police have been searching for clues as all they have is blood; The police officers come to the hospital to get some answers as Celeste says, " I think Callum know more about what is happening". The officer takes Callum in for questioning as Celeste waits for news on Susie. Damien comes with a coffee as Celeste says, " I can't lose her, I lost Brianna a few months ago". She cries as Damien assures her everything will be ok. Celeste tries to get some sleep as she remembers seeing the figure with fangs as she dreams about Callum being the monster who killed Susie and is about to attack her. Celeste wakes up as she breathes rapidly as she looks around to see she is safe; she sees the doctor and asks " doctor, how is my sister doing?". The doctor replies " I am sorry, but she is still very critical".
